POSITION SUMMARY: Perform various tasks involved in the powder coat process for metal parts including but not limited to operate powder coating unit to apply layer or layers of powder assuring an even and consistent film. Powder coats parts following a production plan, drawings for instruction on appropriate color, verbal instructions and other forms of instructions to complete standard and custom work orders according to customer specifications and delivery expectations.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS: Performs preparations for powder coating of parts by cleaning the paint booth every day before producing parts, selects the color to be used based on the drawings, a tag located on the parts, or according to verbal instructions and other forms of instructions. Attention to detail is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Hanging and prep duties

- Ability to read drawings and understand purpose of part and how best to hang/prep

- Prep or sand part as needed and QC parts for conformance

- Blow and mask including any threads for parts prior to plaforization and powder coat

- Wash/ dry parts using plaforization booth and load oven for pre-bake

- Work with powder coater to help assist with priorities, work flows and route card operations

Powder coat duties

- Ability to read and understand drawings to determine all information for coating process

- Inspect all parts before coating for correct masking and plugging

- Ability to run oven and understand all functions for startup and shut down

- Ability to track cure times, keep inventory and complete all route card tracking

- Ability to keep stock of all powder used regularly, and keep up to date with all Kanban items

- Ability to identify and operate correct PPE

• Regular attendance is required

• Other duties as assigned by manager

SHIFTS:

Weekday (Mon-Fri 6-230, Mon-Thur 5-330p)

Weekends (Fri - Sun 6am - 630pm)

Salary info:

$20 - $27 / hr
